Speaker: Mr. Alexander Trotter

Alexander Trotter is the co-portfolio manager of two funds investing in Pan African equities ex South Africa, the Fulcrum Africa and Africa All Cap Funds. Previously he worked with United Bank for Africa in asset management and strategy roles, a period during which the bank significantly expanded its African network. His initial career was as a corporate lawyer at Linklaters and subsequently in banking with UBS. He studied at Oxford University and Imperial College.
His investment focus is specifically on Pan African banks and consumer stocks more widely benefiting from African’s strong and sustained domestic growth.
He is a trustee of one of Africa’s leading African funded philanthropic foundations, focused on the private sector as the driver of African growth, the Tony Elumelu Foundation. He holds non-executive positions on a number of privately held African focused businesses. He has also assisted on the South African Bank SETA programme at Cass Business School.
